New to Yogaforyou, childrens yoga, with Yogabugs
Everyone knows the benefits that yoga brings to adults, so why not let children experience them too.
It is so important, especially now, in modern day society where children are becoming so sedentary, to help them to appreciate and enjoy exercise.
Yoga is such a wonderful tool to children especailly in their early years. It is a complete form of exercise in a safe and non-competitive environment.
The Postures help recharge a weak immune system. They strengthen the core stabilising muscles of the abdomen and back, which from sitting and sloughing start to weaken, they also help to tone the body and reduce the rising levels of childhood obesity.
Yoga helps to maintain a child's natural flexibility which can begin to shut down from a surprisingly young age, especially once they start on computer games and television.
Breathing exercises improve concentration and energy levels.
Relaxation techniques clear the mind, allowing for better memory retention.
The whole practice of yoga improves co-ordination and balance; allows them to develop creativity snd self expression leading to improved confidence, it promotes healthy sleeping patterns and allows children to explore their intuitive nature.
Yogabugs is aimed at children aged between 3 and 7 . The classes are based on an adventure story leading the children through the postures in an imaginative and exciting way, finishing off with games, songs and finally some well earned relaxation.
